I think the current Land Cruiser, yes, the one with the facelift, looks damn good.

Kinja'd!!!

I also like it because it’s one of the few vehicles in its class that shows that the owner gives two hoots about what they’re driving. Don’t get me wrong, I love the Range Rover, the G-Wagon, and the Escalade. But everyone with a ton of money buys those, sometimes without that much thought. You see someone in a new Land Cruiser, you know it’s because they wanted a Land Cruiser and nothing else would do. At least, that’s what I’d like to think.

I agree, I think they look pretty good.

And yeah, the people who own new Land Cruisers are usually not complete assholes.... Like the owners of aforementioned cars.

It is the *least* offensive new design from Toyota for sure. On white color, most new Toyota vehicles look like Juggalo-mobiles. The new Prius has been out for a few months and it still makes me wretch...

I agree with the front end looking phenomenal. I disagree with owners giving any hoots at all since it’s a pretty awful buy for a “fully loaded,” $84k three-row SUV with no modernity and less interior space than a Highlander. Anyone buying these is even more of a “nameplate” snob than the new G-Wagon, Range, Escalade, LX, or QX80 buyers.

Who buys these, and where? I’ve never ever seen a new Land Cruiser on the roads. I see some Lexus LX’s from the early 2000's, but nothing newer.

I disagree. But even if they are being a nameplate snob, it’s for that one car. They don’t just want something that screams “expensive” like the other cars I listed.

I see them around occasionally, but the answer is “not many people”. They sold 2600 last year. The stereotypical answer is people in Aspen, Vail, and many parts of New England. But really, if you drive around any wealthy area for long enough and keep your eyes peeled, you’ll get a glimpse of one.

It’s front throws back to the 80 Series, at least that’s what think. That’s a good thing. If I was buying a full-size SUV, this is it.

I’ve always liked the look of the 200, but I dig conservative designs in 4x4s. As for customers, the 200, especially in toyota former it’s very much by deliberate choice. I know a few people that bought one new and they knew exactly what they were doing

I’ve seen a good number of these on the road (STL must account for like 10% of LC sales it seems) and it’s probably toyotas most attractive product right now by a large margin.

The people that buy them new live in gated communities where a $1M house is on the low end of the price scale.

Then they sell them with > 100k miles to somebody that wants to go adventuring.

I see a lot of them in Memphis and Nashville, new and old. FJ100s are particularly popular here.

It looks like optimus prime’s uncle with mild depression. I can see people liking it, but its a bit to slabby and meh for me.

I do think they look better than the preceding model. I don’t know why, but I’ve never liked it. It’s like they took the loveable 100 series and didn’t know what to do with it. So they just changed the shape of everything a bit. Not even in a good way, just so it’s different.

A guy down the road had one before he moved. He was a big man in a big house with two big German Shephard dogs. It’s about the best car you can get before you go super-premium luxury spec, the biggest and best equipped Toyota. It suited him I think.

I like how these are somewhat capable off-road compared to other cars in its class, like say the Escalade, and I do agree it looks good, but I’m not sure I would spend something like $84K on it.
